What is RSS?
- RSS stands Rich Site Summary which is used to associate or share content on the web. It is a way to provide content from anywhere on the network for easy insertion into a website or a visitor to your desktop. RSS is a very important step in the interconnection of information and access by users.
What is an RSS feed?
- The feeds are a family of standard documents to update the latest news from a website. The documents (feeds) are read by readers called aggregators but recently has been anticipated that the roles of aggregators are build into the browsers of the web browsers.
What is it used for?
- It is generally used for publishing news headlines, blog entries of other information. New uses are being found continuously, especially in the world of education. There is a talk about a second era of the Internet, following the development of networks hyper link that opens a very large potential in access to information.
What can a website do with RSS?
- Keeping a website fresh and updated. Using tools such as Feedroll, you can import news feed from other sites and display them on a constantly updated website.
- Post your pages (news, etc...) and RSS feeds for broad cast. Publishing a feed there is a step in the access to content and a more direct way to access information.
- News, information, articles, news, entertainment without having to browse each site and find your updates. With RSS you can subscribe to those news and a reader which automatically checks all the sites you mentioned and is showing the new content are added.
